New York City - finding a Queen in Queens

New York City - trying to find a Queen in Queens

The Prince of Zamunda (Eddie Murphy) went to America, to New York City, to find a Queen in Queens!

To find a Queen, I needed a local,a person who has advanced knowledge in mapping and checking out the finest places in New York City.

Luckily, my Roomate Nicholas, who was basically born and raised in the famous part of the city that never sleeps, was actually planning on to go on my first weekend in the US ( Yes it is also my first time in America, Yes Steve, it is my first time in New York City :)) to New York City to celebrate the glorious NOTV (Nicholas Owen TV, or simply NO TELEVISION ( now you don t have any excuses James, next time we ll meet, I ll gonna check if you still know the abbreviation :D)

The Weather was amazing, and the party spot to celebrate the website launch was on a rooftop, located in brooklyn in the heart of the city.

Perfect place on a rooftop of the appartment of Nick's Cousins (thank you ladies for the amazing stay on the weekend, you have been really great hosts) - to place an ice cold beer on top of the ceiling!

The journey to New York City took us approximately 3.5 h from DC. The good point of it was, that we carried hell a lot of Jamaican Jerk Chicken, which Nick was preparing the last few days for the party, and which was adding an amazing smell through the trunk of the car into the passenger area, where Steve ,was snoring (yes you were!), Nick was mastering his skills in shouting to different cars who could n t drive properly, Kellen (aka. Ray Charles himself in Person) was having good talks with me about Green Building Managment,...and we all got steadily hungry from the amazing smell.

The food was delicious! Music, Food, Drinks, and about 50 people transforming the building's rooftop into a huge partyplace.

Even the owner of NOTV (Nicholas aka Mr. Partyanimal himself) was pretty amused.

Starting the Saturday with less sleep, and amazing Jamaican food,

it was time to explore New York City and focus on the mission of finding a Queen...or exploring NYCs finest architectural history

When suddenly there was a need to call for backup...

by pointing in the direction of the home of JAZZ - QUEENS!

Yes, time to fulfill the mission. First obstacle was the Charging Bull (stay calm ladies...no need to get angry)

Since a Queen would need a lot of money...why not start to pay the Bankers of the Wall Street a visit?

Since it was a beautiful day, the attraction to NYC was more close to the city center to shop!

To provide my Non-German readers with a typical sterotype, Germans go crazy after time...and since it was time to find a Queen, visiting the Times Square was the next move!

TIME AT THE TIMESQUARE IN NYC

BROOKLYN BRIDGE
Unfortunaltely on the first day, there was no possibility to find a Queen in NYC, but the city left a huge impression on me. The mixture of different building ages and constructions, the hushing people, soo many cabs and people crossing intersections, until you realize you are just walking by skyscrapers and tall buildings, it was time (you see, we germans tend to refer everything to time) to finnish the first day by getting prepared for the next party, which should start in Brooklyn, by Walking over the Brooklyn Bridge.

Stay tuned for the next Blogupdate on finding a Queen in Queens in New York City, and how to celebrate the Jamaican Carneval at 5am in the Morning after a long party night:
